GWM ORA is kicking off 2024 with a fresh start and stepping into the future with a revamped naming strategy across its current and future models. At the forefront of this transformation is the beloved ORA Funky Cat. As of January 15th, the Funky Cat will be reborn as the ORA 03, with two distinct trim levels, PURE+ and PRO+.

• In this blog post, we will explore what this change means for both existing and prospective owners, as well as unveil the newest paint colour option available across the electric vehicle range.

• Funky Cat to ORA 03 Rebrand

  The transition from “Funky Cat” to “ORA 03” (pronounced “zero three”) marks a significant shift in GWM ORA’s approach to branding. The new naming convention aims to align the UK branding to its broader brand strategy.

  This more streamlined identity brings a new sense of clarity, which will make it easier for customers to navigate through the upcoming range of models.

  In addition to the model rebrand, the previous trim levels have also adopted new names. The PURE+ replaces the First Edition specification, which despite this being the base model, it is equipped with lots of technology as standard including satellite navigation, reverse camera and adaptive cruise control. The second trim level available in the ORA 03 model line up is the PRO+, which replaces the First Edition + model. This trim level is fitted with additional features such as auto park assist and massage seats. These two tiers cater to different preferences and driving needs.

  Along with the new naming convention, GWM ORA have also introduced a metallic moonlight white paint option with a contrasting starry black roof. We are confident that this stylish colourway will prove popular among our customers.

• What does the ORA 03 rename mean for our GWM ORA customers?

  For both existing owners and those who have placed orders before the 15th of January, fear not – any original “Funky Cat” registered before the 15th will retain its original identity.

  Any vehicles that are registered after 15th January will officially be referred to as ORA 03, with either the PURE+ or PRO+ label to describe its specification.

  Therefore, you may see some of our used electric ORA's referred to as “Funky Cat” as these were registered prior to the name change.
